Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories (PDL) is a full-service clinical and anatomic laboratory established to provide the highest quality laboratory services. We are accredited by The Joint Commission and serve patients and referring physicians from Southern California to the Central California Coast and Santa Ynez Valley. Our 27 Patient Service Centers are located as far south as Westlake Village and as far north as Templeton.
When referring physicians and patients choose PDL, they experience a full-service lab designed to meet and exceed their needs. PDL is known for its ease of access to services, patient and provider satisfaction and committed team of laboratory professionals.
PDL team members are dedicated to fast and accurate testing and an unparalleled level of service. Our professional, dedicated employees have the skills to manage patients’ needs with personal attention and care. We provide an extensive menu of tests and client services.
As an independent subsidiary of Cottage Health, PDL employs approximately 300 individuals in the full spectrum of full-service laboratory positions, including:

Many of our leaders moved from the bench to supervisor to manager to director. In our Pathology Department, laboratory assistants have been promoted to grossing technician to histotechnologist and earned their national certification as PDL employees.

Engagement With our Pathologists
A key difference at PDL with other labs is that our pathologists work in our labs alongside our staff. They view each team member as integral to PDL’s overall success.
All of our pathologists are board-certified in anatomic pathology and fellowship trained in subspecialties including gyn/breast, hematopathology, dermatopathology, cytopathology and molecular pathology. Our pathology Laboratory Directors are actively engaged with the PDL staff and committed to fostering an environment in which quality goals are achieved and laboratory services are enhanced.
