Pharmacy Careers
The Pharmacy Department at Cottage Health is devoted to the highest quality of care for our patients to ensure the safest and most effective medication-related outcomes. We are a dedicated group of individuals committed to promoting diversity, inclusion, teamwork and integrity to help guide our principles and goals.
Some of our principles include:
- Providing clinical specialists in designated patient-care areas such as Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Infectious Disease, Oncology, and Pediatrics to contribute vital input, participate in rounds and provide consults.
- Advocating for evidence-based guidelines to optimize antimicrobial choices for patients, in consultation with providers, through competent pharmacy-driven Antimicrobial Stewardship interventions.
- Collaborating with nursing, physicians, students, and other ancillary-care personnel to foster an environment of open communication, learning, and teaching to provide the best care for our patients.
- Leveraging technology such as robotics, automation, and barcode scanning to provide a state-of-the-art distribution system.
- Serving the community by providing a high-quality meds-to-beds program through our Discharge Pharmacy.
In 2021, our Antibiotic Stewardship team achieved the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH’s) Honor Roll Gold Status for Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. This award is CDPH’s highest honor and demonstrates adherence to all Centers for Disease Control antibiotic stewardship guidelines, improved patient outcomes and community engagement.
Cottage Health’s work in developing a strong Antibiotic Stewardship program serves as a model for other health systems and demonstrates a commitment to engaging the community.
Diagnostic Radiology and Imaging Careers
Cottage Health Imaging Services professionals are committed to performing high-quality diagnostic imaging services using the latest in imaging equipment and technologies.
Our staff members offer kind and empathetic services in beautiful, patient-centered settings. We collaborate with our medical professionals who maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence.
The Cottage Center for Advanced Imaging (CCAI) features the most advanced suite of imaging technologies between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We offer the most sophisticated medical technology and concierge-style service.
Our services include computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine and PET (CT), fluoroscopy, 3D and digital mammography, bone densitometry and interventional radiology.
Radiology positions include sonographer, special procedures technologists in the Cardiac Cath Lab, MRI technologists, computed tomography technologists, echocardiographers and more.
Respiratory Care Careers
At Cottage Health, our respiratory care professionals are on the frontlines caring for patients from newborns to geriatric, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Our team includes approximately 80 licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners who serve Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital.
We assist in the placement of advanced airways, manage mechanical ventilation, administer specialty gases and other medications, and offer innovative care models including telehealth to evaluate and educate patients with acute and chronic lung diseases.
Our strong staff and excellent teamwork make positions in Respiratory Care desirable. We serve a diverse patient population and are committed to improving the health of the communities we serve through outreach, education, research and collaborative efforts with other organizations.
Therapy Services Careers
Cottage Therapy Services is comprised of dynamic teams that work and collaborate together across the Health System. Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Speech Language Pathologists provide Acute Care Therapy at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital and Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital.
In addition to the therapists listed above, Recreation Therapists ,and Rehabilitation Psychologists / Licensed Mental Health providers provide Inpatient Rehabilitation, case management and Caregiver Resource Services at Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital.
The same clinical disciplines provide Outpatient Therapy Services at CRH Keck Center for Outpatient Therapy, and Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital.
Most clinical positions include a career ladder, mentoring, and leadership opportunities. Many of our clinicians are certified specialists in their field, and participate with a dynamic clinical education / student program. Our teams contribute to the successful certifications in the health system for the Advanced Stroke Certification, Advanced Total Hip and Knee Certifications, Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and Certification with the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
