With nationally recognized hospitals in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Santa Ynez, Cottage Health serves the California Central Coast region from Ventura in the south to San Luis Obispo through its Cottage Urgent Care Centers and with expert laboratory and diagnostic through Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories (PDL). PDL offers 27 convenient locations and a broad menu of testing for clinical and anatomic pathology services.
Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital
Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is a 519-bed acute care teaching hospital and trauma center, the largest of its kind between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. The hospital was founded in 1888 by 50 women determined to provide a healthcare facility for the growing community of Santa Barbara.
Now with annual admissions of more than 20,000 patients, nearly 73,000 emergency department visits, and 2,400 births, Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is renowned for the breadth of its services.

Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital
Founded in 1966, the not-for-profit Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital is licensed for 48-bed acute care beds, admits 1,700 patients a year, receives 24,000 emergency room visits and nearly 30,000 outpatient visits per year.
The hospital is recognized for its Breast Imaging Center, the Ridley-Tree Center for Wound Management and the Center for Orthopedics.
Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital
Offering acute-care services to the Santa Ynez Valley since 1964, Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital provides outpatient surgery, 24-hour emergency services, and a Physicians’ Clinic that brings specialists to the Valley on a regular basis.

Cottage Urgent Care
To increase convenient access to healthcare, Cottage Health has opened Cottage Urgent Care Centers, for treatment of minor injuries and illnesses. Urgent Cares are in storefront locations—from Ventura to San Luis Obispo—and open 365 days a year, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., providing walk-in clinic services.
The conveniently located Cottage Urgent Care Centers are filling an important need for communities to quickly access care during extended hours.
Locations and Appointments
Each Cottage Urgent Care Center is staffed by a licensed nurse practitioner and patient concierge team members dedicated to assisting patients during their visit and ensuring an efficient and comfortable care environment. Each center includes X-ray and lab services. If a patient has a more serious medical condition, they may be referred to a local Emergency Department for more appropriate care.
Our goal is complete care is less than 45 minutes. For COVID-19 Assessment and Testing, appointments are strongly encouraged, walk-ins welcome but subject to availability.

Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories is a full-service clinical and anatomic laboratory accredited by The Joint Commission. We were established to provide the highest quality healthcare services to medical practitioners and patients in the Central Coast and Southern California regions.
